Coupang (CPNG) Faces Regulatory Discrimination from South Korea

A House Judiciary Committee report finds that the South Korean government discriminated against Coupang (CPNG) and other U.S. companies. The investigation, initiated in February, revealed a campaign against Coupang that intensified after a data breach in 2025, affecting 37.55 million people according to the South Korean government. Coupang had stated that only around 3,000 accounts were compromised. The report details excessive fines, investigations, and threats against Coupang's acting CEO Harold Rogers, escalating concerns over international regulatory practices that may hinder U.S. businesses. The South Korean government expressed regret over the assertions in the report.
