Anthropic (ANT) Files for IPO with $6.2B Debt and $4.5B H1 2026 Revenue
Anthropic, an AI company behind the Claude model, has officially filed for an IPO on the Nasdaq under the ticker ANT. The filing reveals the company carries $6.2 billion in debt and reported a loss of $80.7 billion in the first half of 2026. Its overseas revenue for the same period reached $4.5 billion, which is 27.8% of total revenue and a significant increase from $343 million the prior year. The company’s growth in 2026 has been fueled by its popular AI coding tool Claude Code and other AI models like Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5. Anthropic faces competition from OpenAI and Google and has recently engaged in disputes with the U.S. government over safety and regulation concerns. The offering is led by Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley. However, the company and similar data center firms are experiencing market jitters due to rising credit risks, including losses over 30% for firms like CoreWeave and Nebius in October. This IPO is highly anticipated as Anthropic seeks to capitalize on increasing demand for AI services in a sector facing inflationary infrastructure costs. The large debt load and recent financial losses highlight potential risks, while its rapid revenue growth and global expansion indicate strong market interest. Investors should note that Anthropic’s IPO will test the valuation appetite for AI infrastructure amidst broader market caution.
