Cyber Attacks Surged to 1,008,597 Reports in 2025 Amid Threats

In 2025, the number of reported cyber-attacks in the US reached 1,008,597, up from 288,012 in 2015, according to FBI statistics. The financial losses attributed to these incidents totaled $20.8 billion, an increase from $16.6 billion in 2024. Notably, physical threats associated with ransomware attacks rose over twofold, with 40% of global cases featuring threats to harm staff if ransoms were not paid. In the US, this figure was even higher, at 46%. These developments indicate a troubling trend in cyber-crime tactics, which may impact corporate security measures significantly.
