GM (GM) Partners with Peak Energy on Sodium-Ion Battery Storage
General Motors (GM) announced a collaboration with Peak Energy to develop sodium-ion battery cells for large-scale energy storage, set to target utilities and data centers facing increasing electricity demand. GM will produce the cells at its Michigan battery labs, while Peak Energy will utilize them in its systems. The first cells are expected in trial production by 2028.
