Heating Oil Prices in NI Rise 92% Amid Market Changes

Heating oil prices in Northern Ireland surged by a record 92% in March, surpassing a previous spike of 59% the prior year. Approximately two-thirds of households utilize home heating oil, and the analysis by Queens University used Consumer Council data. On April 8, prices peaked at an average of £627 for 500 litres but have since decreased to around £530. Meanwhile, diesel prices fell from 183.8p to 178.5p and petrol from 152.1p to 150.4p, indicating a mixed trend in fuel pricing.
