Indonesia's sovereign wealth fund, Danantara, is advancing a proposal to unify the asset management units of several state-controlled banks, pending regulatory approvals. The agreement, reached on April 1, involves the acquisition of investment management subsidiaries from PT Bank Mandiri, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia, PT Bank Negara Indonesia, and PT Permodalan Nasional Madani for Rp2.7 trillion ($158.8 million). This initiative aims to create a competitive asset management group in Indonesia and the region.
