Perpetual Declines A$22.07 EQT Buyout Offer for Shareholders' Value

Perpetual has turned down an updated A$22.07 ($15.46) per share buyout offer from Windflower, controlled by EQT, which is 2% above an earlier offer of A$21.64 disclosed on July 1, 2026. The Perpetual Board stated the new bid does not represent fair value and is not in shareholders' best interests. In March, Perpetual agreed to sell its wealth management division to Bain Capital Private Equity for an initial A$500 million payment. This decision and the sale's proceeds aim to reduce debt and support growth in its asset management and corporate trust divisions, which is important for ordinary investors (ASX: PPT).
