Pony.ai (PONY) to Deploy 2,000 Robotaxis Across Europe with Uber

On August 14, Pony.ai (NASDAQ: PONY) announced it would deploy more than 2,000 robotaxis across Europe in partnership with Uber (NYSE: UBER), expanding from Zagreb, Croatia to four additional cities. The partnership aims to transition Uber's business model away from human drivers, which accounted for $25 billion in driver payments out of $58 billion in gross bookings in Q2. Uber's CEO expects to increase the number of autonomous vehicle operating cities from seven to potentially 15 by the end of 2026.
