Airlines Report Increasing Lithium-Ion Battery Risks During Flights

Lithium-ion batteries remain a significant risk for airlines, with the UK's Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) reporting they are among the top three risks in the industry. A US study indicates there are two lithium-ion battery-related incidents each week globally. As of July 15, there were 51 verified incidents reported by the US Federal Aviation Administration for this year. This issue highlights the growing concern over safety as more passengers bring battery-powered devices on flights, impacting air travel operations and safety protocols.
